Instruction and tips on how to sew-in weave hair extentions

Type of sew-in and choosing your hair weave extentions

You can either do a full-head hair weave (none of your own hair is left out) or leave about an inch of your own hair out in a partial weave. If you do the partial hair weave, be sure to choose hair that blends well with you hair color and hair type. Let’s say you have straight, black hair, a curly, light brown weave would not be a good choice, it wouldn’t look natural. If you want to go for hair that’s very different from yours then be sure to get a full hair weave. If you want one that bends in with your hair then go for a partial weave.Typically you need about 2 packs of hair for a sew-in, you can use more for a look of hair.

How to sew-in full and partial hair weaves

*Be sure to buy 1-2 packs of wefted hair pieces. Next wash your natural hair and be sure to use a hair treatment to to build up strength in your hair and then dry hair

*Next, obtain a curved sewing hair needle so that you can attach the weft (the top, sewn portion of the hair pieces) of the hair weave to your hair. You will also need some hair thread, scissors and hair clips

Partial weave extentions:

Leave about an inch or two of your own hair out at the front so that the hair piece behind it will be covered, braid hair in horizontal cornrows around the head

Full hair weave extentions:

*Part about 1-2 inches of hair from the entire hairline, in a circular manner. Hair in the middle should be separated, this can be done by using a clip.

*Cornrow the hair at the hairline in a circular pattern around the head

*Create one two other circular cornrows inside of the one just created. Cornrows should be flat and thin to reduce bulk.

*Continue this up to the ears and then around in a complete circle until the entire head is complete and none of the cornrows underneath are showing. For the last cornrow, leave about a 1 inch opening in the middle.

*Place the hair piece over the braid and sew with threaded hair needle (the thread should be knotted) with stitches about ½ - 3/4 inches long. Cut hair piece when you have reached one horizontal section.

*Roll a track into a circle like a cinammon roll then sew the base together using a sewing needle with a knotted hair thread.

*Place this in the 1 inch opeining of your hair weave and either place glue around the sewn portion of the track. at the base or sew it completely around.

*To get a more natural and polished look, have your hair weave razor cut (layerd), preferably by a hair stylist, it makes a world of difference.
